Welcome to the Children’s School of Rochester’s Family Literacy blog!
We are currently in a summer session, and will be spending three weeks together, with parents and children learning together.
During this first week, we have been learning all about AIR! We have learned about what air is made of, what a gas is, and we have done all kinds of fun math involving bubbles, balloons, and money. We even designed our own airplanes in preparation for visiting the Air Show in Geneseo tomorrow.
Today, our principal, Mr. Piper came in the teach us all about kites. We learned some new vocabulary (crooked, straight, heavy, light, balance, spine, cover) that we would need to build our own kites. Then, we went to work. Each child worked together with their parent to build their kite. When they were finished, we went outside to fly them. Here are some pictures to show what we did.
Han showing off his hard work and Bipan.. always in motion! : )

We had so much fun today. Stay tuned for pictures from the Air Show tomorrow! Also, starting next week, the students will be blogging, not me 🙂
